Are Luminous LED jackets safe for the rain?

YES! All Luminous Apparel designs have received the official status of Bass Canyon 2024 Thicc Rain & Thunderstorm Seal of Approval, meaning you can wear these through a rainstorm & shouldn't experience any issues. That being said:

  • not all base-jackets themselves are ideal for rain. Some genuine leather jackets are not treated to endure a downpour, so please refer to your jacket's Care Guide or reach out to us if you aren't sure. Each Care Guide is specific to the base-jacket your Luminous design is installed on, so we take an extra effort to make sure your guide is specific to your build.
  • We DO recommend once you shed your jacket to remove the electronic components & hang your jacket to dry to help ensure it remains as weatherproofed as possible for many years to come.
  • They are not submersible on a level that makes swimming in your electronic apparel a good idea, though, so please stay on land or you're gonna have a BAD time.bad time
  • I have a deadline I want my jacket in time for. Can you ensure I receive it by then?

We will assess viability based on our existing line of orders in production, as well as shipping times to provide you with options.

    I want to gift a Luminous jacket to someone. How do?

    If you are a L E G E N D and want to have a Luminous jacket crafted for someone close to you (or an enemy you have a very confusing relationship with??) we can TOTALLY do this! We do, however, highly suggest you make damned sure you have their size right. We have sneaky ways of doing this, so just reach out to us at info@KnightWitchApparel.com if you aren't 100% certain on their perfect size and we would be elated to conspire with you. We can even slip a special memento into the jacket design to commemerate the occasion! Just reach out and we'll get spooky with our witchcraft and make cool things happen!

  • If you're looking to have a pair of jackets made for both of you, such as for an engagement or EDC wedding, let us know as we have a special freebie addon available for these kinds of adorable occasions.

    Do you sell spare electronics / backups for the jackets that I can add onto my order?

    Yes we do! Visit the add-on / hardware accessories page to grab a kit or individual pieces, HERE if you are looking to either replace something you lost / damaged or want to add a backup kit to your order so you'll never be unprepared for the unexpected!

    Do you take international orders?

    YES we do! Knight Witch is happy to take customers from anywhere in the world, providing you are not currently in a country sanctioned by the United States, or the list of non-sanctioned countries we do not conduct business with for humanitarian reasons. Excluded regions include:

  • Sactioned / export controlled: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia (certain sectors & individuals), Sudan (certain sectors & individuals)
  • We voluntarily do not conduct business with the following due to human rights concerns:

    I am located inside Ukraine. Can I place an order?

    YES!!! In fact, if you are a citizen of Ukraine, located inside Ukraine, or are a displaced citizen of Ukraine & are in another country temporarily under aslum/refugee status, etc, BEFORE YOU ORDER, please reach out to info@KnightWitchApparel.com directly.

  • We have a special program—Witches In Ukraine—in which our Ukrainian brothers & sisters are eligible, & ALL proceeds from Ukrainian purchases, as well as purchases of any Ukrainian Luminous designs (save for the cost of materials) are donated to United24 in an effort to support the fight for Ukraine's sovreignty & right to prosper. We are working closely with Ukranian partners to provide as much support as we can, including periodic jacket & Luminous Apparel raffles to raise donation funds for the war, medical, & recovery efforts.

  • Returns & Exchanges

    Are returns or exchanges accepted?

    No. Due to the made-to-order and highly customized nature of Knight Witch's Luminous line, once we have begun the build process, we cannot issue refunds or accept returns. This of course, excludes any unexpected issues such as quality, faulty parts, etc. If you receive your order with any defects or a piece of the electronic hardware is not functioning as expected, please reach out & we will take care of it right away. We pack our products like we're expecting it to get drop-kicked by the courier, but things can happen once the package leaves our studio & is in the hands of the Shipping Gods.

  • We are here to ensure you find the right jacket fit BEFORE your official build begins, so if you are unsure about the fit, either reach out to us at info@KnightWitchApparel.com with any questions or select the Try Before You Buy option to your cart along with the desired jacket. Not all jackets are available for this, though most are. Custom sizes are excluded from this. If the jacket you want to try is unavailable, you'll automatically be issued a refund & we will reach out to let you know & see how you want to proceed.

  • WARRANTY OVERVIEW

    Basic Overview

    All Luminous Apparel is covered by a 60-day warranty as part of your jacket’s quality assurance package. This warranty period begins from the point you receive your jacket from the courier, therefore you will have 60 days with your jacket in use before you exit the standard warranty period.

    Each jacket build is put through Q&A testing to confirm functionality of its electronic components and a long lasting battery life. With each build, we include the specs unique to your jacket, as well as technical procedures regarding care & maintenance of Luminous apparel for a long & vibrant life.

    With that said, in the event of an unexpected hardware failure, we’ve got you covered. The standard warranty will cover any faulty hardware issues, however, there are some exceptions that come down to user-error. It is imperative that you read the user guide & care procedures in order to ensure you do not unintentionally damage your jacket’s electronic hardware. Failure to adhere to these details may result in damage that is not covered. However, we also offer a Maintenance & Repair Program available to you at any time, so ANY damage not covered by your warranty can almost always be repaired and / or refreshed as part of the M&RP.

  • ABOUT STANDARD WARRANTY (60 DAY)

    Included for ALL Luminious Apparel

    The following damage IS covered by the Standard 60-day Warranty

  • Unexpected bluetooth controller failure (ie. not powering on, not found in device search)
  • Wiring or LED node failure (unless visibly caused by physical damage, so don’t body-slam your jacket)
  • Anker Battery / power source failure (ie. unable to charge or hold charge, not powering properly)
  • Fraying / sewing issues / broken zipper-hardware due to manufacturing defect
  • Any general identifiable manufacturing defects / issues not caused by user-error
  • What Is NOT Covered

    The following damage is NOT covered by your warranty:

  • Water damage (jackets are water-tight but not submersible, so stay on land, but rain is OK!)
  • Crush damage (they are durable, but they still contain electronic hardware, so don’t falcon-punch it into your luggage or you’re gonna have a bad time)
  • Fried electronics - PLEASE READ
  • - As outlined in the user guide and care procedures, the electronic components in the Luminous Apparel builds are HEAVILY tested for compatibility.

    - Do NOT under ANY circumstances use an alternative power source from the Anker Power Core provided. You run a very high chance of frying your electronics.

    - The behaviours from receiving too much power are VERY obvious. In our engineering process, it was a challenge to find a configuration that met our standards, as well as compatibility, as we found some hardware that should have worked on paper did NOT in fact play nicely together. We went through this so you do not have to.

    - If you want to try out an alternative power source / bank, please simply reach out to us, first, and we can complete a testing process to ensure it will not compromise your jacket build. Once we do this, we will send the approval and add a note to your account that your alternative power source was APPROVED by QA.

  • Scratches / general expected wear & tear
  • Tampering, modification, & any unapproved meddling with your hardware & / or Luminous LED decal

  • In the event your jacket presents any unexpected issues, please reach out to use either using the form on KnightWitchApparel.com, or email us atinfo@knightwitchapparel.com with your order number & details on the issue you are experiencing. Repairs covered will be done at no cost to you, and if it is necessary to send your jacket in for repair, we will provide you with a shipping label at no extra cost. Most repairs will not require the entire jacket to be sent in. In the case of faulty external hardware (controller, battery, cables) we will send you replacement parts. In the event the Luminous design has an internal issue, typically we will just require the Luminous decal to be removed from your jacket and sent in for repair.


    PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT TAMPERING WITH YOUR LUMINOUS LED DECAL WILL AUTOMATICALLY VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

    We cannot cover damage incurred if your decal has been opened or modified because we have no way of determining if the issue was a result of bad ideas, or a manufacturing defect. We are very serious about providing a long-lasting product & want to ensure we can cover you as much as possible. As creators and tinkerers, we understand some may wish to modify their builds and simply must warn you to do so at your own risk. If you are ever curious to make changes to your jacket, please just reach out to us first and we can likely help you and provide some insight to ensure you don’t accidentally cause a singularity that will swallow the planet hole, summon Cthulhu, or damage your jacket.

    Common Sense Agreement

    Now, we aren’t going to sit here and pretend 90% of you are sober while frolicking about concerts and festivals looking this goddamn badass. We know what you are. We are you, too. It’s why we built a business on the theme of “can I put LEDs on this”. It’s also a big reason we spent an unreasonable amount of time fine-tuning these jackets to be comfortable, lightweight, durable, and reasonably water-tight… because we know it’s inevitable your sweaty, grubby ass is going to get rained on, or get hugged aggressively from behind by butch lady lumberjacks. So you can have a blast in these jackets and they’ll serve you well. With that said, we EXPECT some level of common sense to be used. Durable doesn’t mean you can falcon-punch these into your over-stuffed luggage (do you even Bag of Holding??). Rain-approved doesn’t mean deep-sea submersible. And please, for the love of god, don’t go run in an open field during a lightening storm. It will fry the jacket. You might get super powers but we can’t confirm nor recommend it.


    Simply put, just take care of your jacket and we will take care of you!

    As part of the long-life mission to bring you Luminous Apparel that lasts, we offer an extended and expanded warranty to cover the first year of ownership so no matter where you go, you are covered. Your warranty includes damage coverage that is NOT a part of the standard warranty, as well as a much longer timeframe and a bonus 2-year period after your warranty’s expiration that gives you a FAT discount in the Maintenance & Repair Program so you can send your jacket in for fixes, refreshers, & even upgrades at a much lower rate.

    This warranty grants: 

  • Expanded coverage for additional hardware failures not covered by the standard warranty
  • 12-Month Failure Coverage (upgraded from 60-Day Standard Coverage)
  • A discount on Repair & Maintenance Requests (discount lasts for 3 years from date of purchase)

    We reocognize that our jackets are meant to be worn, loved, & likely survive multiple festivals, a litany of concerts & travel—& let's be real, we know you heathens are high as the International Space Station, so shit happens. This naturally brings with it wear & tear that we want to ensure you have greater options to utilize in the event that your jacket is damaged.

    While the extended warranty does not cover ALL damage (as we expect common-sense to be applied to any electronic apparel, such as avoiding taking a swim or testing out of being struck by lightening will give you super-powers), this warranty option does cover more forms of damage that the standard warranty will not, & more importantly, expands the window of warranty coverage to 12 months.

    Although this warranty coverage itself does expire 12 months after you receive your jacket, it DOES include perks that last beyond this timeframe:

    • A 30% discount on repairs NOT covered by your warranty (jacket replacement excluded)
    • A 20% discount on our Luminous Apparel Maintenance & Repair program for 3 years after your jacket purchase

    The Luminous Apparel Maintenance & Repair Program is designed to give all customers a reasonable option to help maintain your Luminous jackets for many years to come, as well as seek repairs in the event that damage is incurred.
